Tesla and Elon Musk have one month to deliver on Full Self-Driving target

Earlier this year during the Q3 2019 earnings call, Elon Musk said that while the timeline was going to be tight, Tesla still had a target of delivering feature complete Full Self-Driving by the end of the year, albeit likely only available to Early Access Program (EAP) users.

Well it’s now December 1, 2019, and the countdown begins to see if Tesla and Elon Musk can deliver before we ring in the New Year. Tesla hacker greentheonly recently found new code in the latest 2019.40.1.1 update that hints that they may be close to delivering on that target.

The code greentheonly found was called “CityStreetBehavior”, but he was unable to figure out its purpose (yet). Currently Full Self-Driving is advertised on Tesla’s website as “Automatic driving on city streets”, so the name certainly implies it has something to do with Autopilot and its ability to operate on city streets.

We’ll have to wait and see if Tesla can deliver an amazing present to some lucky Tesla owners this Christmas in the form of feature complete Full Self-Driving.
